Social reform plays an integral role in the growth of modern societies. It is very important concept according to current demands. There are many personalities in the Islamic history which promoted and highlighted the importance of social reformation in the lives of Muslims. Justice Ameer Ali, Dr Mohammad Iqbal, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Maulvi Chiragh Ali are those personalities who always urged Muslims to adopt modern values and social standards. They stimulated Muslims that without modification in our attitude and social structure, we could not meet the demands of contemporary period. For our survival, it is very compulsory to keep astray ourselves from orthodox approaches. For promoting these modern trends, these peoples faced very tough opposition. Orthodox type Muslims were not ready or even still they are ready to accept these changes. But if observe, the religion which we are practicing is a group of diffusion of divine teachings, customs, traditions, and theological formulations. Thus, we can say that everything in religion is not divine. Some teachings of divine are related to some social context, which can be changed with the passage of time. While there are some divine injunctions which are completely eternal and constant in their nature and in their implementations.
Moreover, if we read and study the teachings of Holy Quran, we see all verses and their interpretations in the context of their revelations. A reformer sees the things in the context of their occasions of revelations. They find the meaning and sense of verses of the Holy Quran in the light of their revelations. Thus, we can say that the context of anything is very important when they implement them. Some famous commentators of the Holy Quran established a volume of literature named Asbab Al-Nuzul. Therefore, we need to eliminate our differences and solve our religious issues. Likewise, when we live in western countries like UK, we must also adjust ourselves according to their culture. But never forget fundamental rules and soul of our religious teachings. Likewise, there are also some Islamic pilgrimage services from England for Muslims.
